SWY Australia is pleased to advise that the 15th SWY Program will run from October to December
2002.

APPLICATIONS
The Youth Bureau within the Department of Family and Community Services is responsible for the selection of
Australia’s delegation. Official information regarding the program for 2002
and application forms
can be found at the following website:

An advertisement for the SWY program can be found on page 6 of the Weekend Australian for Saturday 22 June
(in the bottom left hand corner).

PORTS OF CALL
The tentative sailing route and the schedule is:
> Oct. 22 Arrival of the non-Japanese participants
> Oct. 30 Fly to Singapore
> Oct. 31 Board Nippon Maru in Singapore
> Nov. 8-9 Port of Call Activities in Cairns (Australia)
> Nov. 18-19 Port of Call Activities in Honolulu (USA)
> Nov. 25-27 Port of Call Activities in Vancouver (Canada)
> Dec. 3 Disembarkation of the non-Japanese participants in Honolulu
> Dec. 13 Return to Tokyo
COSTS
The following costs will be borne by the Japanese Government:
> Airfares from Australia to Japan, from Japan to Singapore to board the boat, and from Honolulu to return to Australia
> Accommodation, scheduled transfers, and regular meals for the duration of the program
> Apart from the above, participants will need to attend to their own costs.
